Cinnamon
The Latin name of Cinnamon is Cinnamomum zeylancium, while locally it is better known as ‘Dalchini’. Some of the Sanskrit names are ‘twak’ i.e. the bark and ‘Uthkat’ i.e. that what is robust.

4 Common Health Conditions Which Cinnamon can Relieve!

 

1. Urinary Problems

One to three grams of the powder of Cinnamon prepared by pounding a piece of the bark, can be taken along with a glassful of water in case of some urinary ailments like dysurea, insufficient expulsion of the urine and when pus comes along with urination. This is because Cinnamon provides a natural stimulus to the kidneys.

Respiratory Aid

Cinnamon is a destroyer of phlegm. It is therefore recommended in the malady of common cold and sore throat. You could take the recommended dose of cinnamon powder mixed into one-teaspoon honey. For better relief add a pinch of black pepper powder and a few drops of ginger juice.

 

Toothache

Cinnamon can be chewed to gain strength for your teeth and gums. In case of dental caries and toothache, one or two drops of cinnamon oil applied to a piece of cotton is to be pressed in the cavity.

You can pound a piece of cinnamon and boil in a glass of water. This drink is to be taken lukewarm at least half hour before meals. Other than this, cinnamon is also beneficial in curing diarrhoea associated with infection and worm infestations.
