By the virtue of the lives that we seem to live these days, we are always in the race. Remember the fable, in the race between the rabbit and the tortoise, in the end the tortoise was the one who actually won.

That goes true of every situation that life brings forth. We all seem to be posing as rabbits, trying to win the race.

Doesn’t this create unwanted stress and strain? Are we not being rather too pushy with our own selves. Why run, run and run when the expedition essentially needs to be consciously enjoyed. We are all in the journey continuously, unawares of the margin to the final destination.

I could think of two main advantages that being a tortoise could bring out to you. One, the turtle breathes slowly, rather very slowly and deliberately, this foregoes the chasing attitude and encourages deep breathing. Thus the animal lives longer, steadier and more tranquil. Second, the turtle has a shell, a protection cover, which the rabbit does not have. And therefore, as and when there is external stimulus, he has his way inside. This is the situation with the world around us. Although we cannot escape the stimulus, but we can always make ourselves strong inside!

In this journey of life we are in the race, no doubt. But surely we can be moving in our own defined pace. Each one of us is in the race which is particularly designed for our life on planet Earth. Yet, the stop watch is in the hands of God. This is our golden chance to make the best out of the sole purpose of human birth. As the players in the tracks, we are also in the race. Yet our pathways vary.

We Are On Our Path

Some of us could be in the track of 800 meters, yet there could be others pacing only the 80 meters track. We are all treading our own path, unaware of the distance from the ultimate.

Even though indulging in the materialism and pleasures of the world, we must not forget that our track is designed by the Creator and also the distance in the path is destined.

Sooner or later the time would be up, but in the end, it is the journey and

not the pace that will count!
