Ayurvedic Food For Thought!
Ayurveda emphasizes food above any other medicine as without good eating habits, any treatments will not provide a lasting effect for the health restoration. But why food is so significant? Ayurveda suggests –
- Food if taken in proper quantity can provide vigour and strength to the body.
- You would have a good complexion and glowing skin.
- Not only this, the right diet nourishes the health of the body cells and tissues.
-
What Is The Right Food?
- Ayurveda suggests that the food is broadly classified based on its properties and its effect on digestion. The properties of food would broadly concern and integrate a few distinct elements of the diet concerned. These are –
- Rasa (taste)
- Guna (natural property of the food)
- Virya (potency of the food – hot or cold)
- Vipaka (effect post-digestion)
- Prabhava (pharmacology)
- Anupana (mode).
