Skin allergies and other skin ailments are common during Monsoons owing to the weather being more humid during rainy season and also there is natural aggravation of Vata dosha. This makes the skin all the more sensitive and prone to skin allergies and skin troubles like itching, boils and allergic skin rash. Although there could be mixed symptoms of skin allergies and eruptions due to vitiation of either of the three doshas viz, vata, pitta and kapha. Itching in the skin is due to the aggravated kapha, burning sensation and sometime fever and nausea due to the pitta and the undue increase in vata causes pain.
Ayurveda and Skin Types
People who have predominant Vata dosha have skin that is dry, rough, scaly, thin and prone to wrinkles, whereas those with a predominant Pitta dosha have reddish, delicate skin that is very susceptible to rashes.
