Book Excerpts Chapters 5 & 6 – Healthy Living through Dosha Healing (Ayurveda)
About The Book – Healthy Living through Dosha Healing (Ayurveda)
Three childhood friends part ways only to meet after nine long years. But the reunion takes an unexpected turn, forcing them down a road they never dreamed of. Along the way, they find out several things about each other that are both shocking and heart-wrenching. More importantly, each finds out things about herself – things that change who she is forever. After a lifetime of questions, they finally find the answers. And all this because of one man who introduces them to the ancient wisdom of ayurvedic dosha healing.
The book – Healthy Living through “Dosha Healing” is health fiction based on hard facts and centuries’ old knowledge that will touch you. As you turn the pages and get intimate with the lives of each of the friends, you will find yourself drawing parallels to your own self and your life. And before you know it, you too will be pulled onto the path of dosha healing, much like the three friends, and be transformed inside out. If you thought that ayurveda was boring and had only to do with your physical health, you are about to find out how wrong you are.

Book Excerpt – Chapter 6
“I said I was not in the mood. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t do it. I had to, because Rahul convinced me over the phone,” she admitted.
“So, it was Rahul who made you do your self-identification worksheet?’ this time Kavya was frowning deliberately sounding cynical.
“He didn’t make me do anything. I did it because what he said made sense. He said that I shouldn’t disregard what Dr Ayur Wizard could be offering us. Because he did some research on Ayurveda and found that the ancient Indian science is authentic and has helped millions of people. The science is essentially self-explained and relates mainly to how to live our life. It has been, is and always will be the same for mankind. And also that it can’t be overlooked,” said Pia.
“Now, now look who’s talking!” said Vani exasperated.
Kavya was taking it all in, like a silent spectator.
“Rahul made me realize that there’s no harm in trying,” she said.
“Finally, some sense,” said Vani.
“So, at least, I went through the set of questions” said Pia.
“And you’ve found that you are a Pitta personality?” this came from Kavya, who finally broke her silence.
Pia nodded.
“What about you?” Vani asked Kavya, who seemed eager to share her guess with her friends.
“I am Kapha type. Actually, I had suspected this all along and the 90-95 per cent scoring I got in the self-identity questionnaire confirmed it. Knowing that whatever I am—my physique, basic nature, preferences is natural—brought in a kind of peace.”
“The Kapha type of person is naturally slow and steady” Kavya continued. “So, people like me are calm and composed. They are also ‘naturally’ sweet-toothed and this explains my craving for sweets, chocolates and ice-creams,” she said, almost salivating imagining her favourite foods.
“So, you are clear about your personality and therefore would be patiently waiting for tomorrow’s class?” queried Pia.
“Not really” said Kavya, sounding confused for the first time. “I am so convinced that I am a naturally Kapha person. This has helped me accept myself with all the good and the bad, because that’s who I am naturally. Now, I’m really not sure whether I need to go through the tedious healing sessions with Dr Ayur Wizard,” she said.
“I think you have a point there,” said Vani. “Let’s assume that you are right about you being Kapha type and Pia being Pitta type. And let’s say I am Vata type. If we are naturally meant to be the way we are, what help can we expect in this case?” she wondered. “I mean, what healing could he have to offer us if God has made us so?”
“True. But don’t you think there’s all the more reason we should go and find out? Let’s just attend tomorrow’s class and see how it goes. We have our goods and we have our bads, as per his hypothesis. So now let’s see how he plans to help us. If we find that this guy is trying to play with our sentiments, then we’ll give it to him,” said Pia banging her fist on the coffee table. Once again, it was decided that they would give Dr Wizard another chance.
