Depressed
|
Someone from across the seven seas needs help. She is fighting depression. I have had a chat with her only to make out that her stipulation is without much rhyme or reason. But this is not one case, we are living in this realm of anxiety, stress, insomnia, depression and so many other mental afflictions.
I am writing and posting this note on my blog to be able to help her out and to share Ayurveda assistance with that someone, somewhere who might be looking on for support.
Ayurveda Support for Depression
-
You need to wake up early in the morning, actually with the first morning sun rays! The juvenile ultraviolet rays emitted during dawn tend to work as mind stimulators and mood dilators!
-
Yoga poses like Shavasana and Yoga Nidra and Deep breathing techniques called Pranayama’ are surely going to help you greatly, especially Anulom – Vilom and Bhramari Pranayama.
-
Take to Vegan diet which is more Satvik and therefore enhances positivity of the mind. More of seasonal fruits, vegetables, sprouts. Naturopathy suggests take alkaline diet more than 80%.
-
Lavender oil as aromatic drops may be used in bath and burnt in your room for relieving aroma.
-
Massage of soles of the feet with some warming oil like Sesame seed oil will benefit. Also, you need to use some cooling oil for massage of your scalp daily. Elaadi tailam or coconut oil are good.
-
Sound sleep at night is rather mandatory. Don’t miss for anything 7 to 8 hours of sleep every single day.
-
Panchkarma techniques of Shirodhara and Nasya are good. You can use Desi ghee or Almond drops for the same.
-
Meditation is going to be of highest support!
-
Ayurveda herbs like Ashwagandha and Brahmi are recommended.
-
Sarswatarishta and Brahma Rasayana are some Ayurveda formulations that would be of assistance. (You may discuss the ingredients with your doctor)
-
Connection with all five natural elements – Ether, air, sun, water and earth is actually needed.
-
Also, keeping occupied mentally during the day in any creative activity that makes you feel happy and positive is mandatory.
