Dr. Sonica Krishan , Ayurvedic Consultant and Holistic Coach from Chandigarh spoke on the topic “Eat Healthy Stay Fit the Ayurveda way”. She elaborated on life style diseases such as heart problems as killer number one, followed by diabetes, obesity, arthritis, and cancer etc. She explained that the root of health lies in “Aahar Vihar” i.e., diet and lifestyle.

She spoke about ‘Ojas’ or Natural immunity as a Suraksha Kavach by discussing : ‘What to Eat, When to Eat and How to eat’.She discussed Satvik, Rajsik and Tamsik foods. Processed foods were Tamsik & harmful & should be eaten occasionally only. The best time for eating is along with the strength of the sun’s rays, so between 12 Noon and 2 p.m. is the best time to have a full meal. How to eat is important .

Eating mindlessly without focusing on food is harmful .One should not focus on TV while eating. Focus should be on every bite, not fast, not too slow, but with a feeling of relaxation and contentment and observing proper hygiene.
